Trino Weekly #10

Trino had to settle for a 1–1 draw at Dormelletto Comignago on Sunday. After a difficult first half, the biancoblu came back strong and had two late chances cleared off the goal line.

Dormelletto started faster and took the lead in the 45th minute. After a throw-in, Bullari fired through a crowded penalty area and beat Cerruti just before halftime.

Trino looked like a different team after the break. The equalizer came in the 55th minute. Osenga sent the ball into the box, Conti challenged for it and a Dormelletto clearance hit Bullari before ending up in the net for an own goal. 1–1, and the game was wide open again.

From there, Trino pushed hard for the winner. Mercandino had a shot cleared off the line, Vergnasco saw a powerful effort blocked and Ferraris came within inches of scoring with a header from a corner — only for another defender to save on the line. Dormelletto also had a chance of its own, forcing Cerruti into an important save.

The draw ended Trino’s perfect road record, but the team is still unbeaten away from home. After nine games, the biancoblu have 15 points.

It was a tough weekend for the youth teams. The Under 19s lost 3–2 at home to Bulè Bellinzago, while the Under 17s were beaten 6–0 by Virtus Vercelli. The Under 18s had the weekend off.

The week ahead

The Under 19s are back on the road on Saturday, November 7, with a trip to face Ivrea.

On Sunday, both the Under 18s and Under 17s play away from home. The Under 18s travel to Borgomanero to face Accademia Borgomanero, while the Under 17s take on Borgolavezzaro.

Then it’s back to the Roberto Picco stadium for the senior team. Trino host Ce.Ver.Sa.Ma. Biella on Sunday, November 8 at 2:30pm.

Ce.Ver.Sa.Ma. come into the game with eight points from nine matches, but Trino know better than to read too much into the standings. The Biella team has caused plenty of problems in this matchup before. Both meetings last season ended 1–1, including the game at the Picco in February.

And they arrive in Trino with some momentum. Ce.Ver.Sa.Ma. beat Valle Cervo San Lorenzo 3–0 last weekend, their second win of the season.

For Trino, the goal is simple: turn two straight draws into three points at home.
