Trino Weekly #07
Trino were held to a 1–1 draw by Bulè Bellinzago at the Roberto Picco on Sunday, at the end of an afternoon that left Cristian Spinoglio’s side with plenty of regret.
The biancoblu controlled long periods of the game and created enough chances to take all three points. The breakthrough came in the 28th minute, when captain João Gabriel Brugnera reacted quickest to a loose ball, broke clear and beat Accordino to give Trino the lead. Brugnera soon had an opportunity to add a second, but the Bulè goalkeeper produced an excellent save.
The pattern remained much the same after the interval. Vergnasco twice went close, only to find Accordino in his way, while Trino continued to search for the goal that would have put the match beyond the visitors.
Instead, the equaliser arrived in the 82nd minute. A move down the left ended with a cross towards the near post, where Bonaldo got there first and beat Porta. Trino immediately pushed forward again and came close to a late winner through Conti, but Accordino produced another decisive save. The final whistle confirmed a 1–1 draw that felt, on the balance of the game, like two points left behind.
The Under 19s continued their excellent start to the Regional Championship with a 2–0 away win against Valle Elvo in Occhieppo. Berra and Troplini scored the goals as Trino made it two victories from their opening two Group A fixtures. Just as importantly, the Juniores have yet to concede a goal.
There were mixed results elsewhere in the youth section. The Under 18s were beaten 4–0 at home by La Vischese, while the Under 17s earned a 1–1 draw away to Strambinese, their second point of the campaign.
The week ahead
The Under 19s return to action on Saturday, 17 October at 3.00pm, when they host Sportiva Caltignaga in their third Regional Championship fixture. With six points from six and no goals conceded so far, the aim is clear: keep another clean sheet and hold on to top spot in Group A.
Also at 3.00pm, the Under 17s welcome Montanaro. After earning a point away to Strambinese last weekend, Trino will be looking to build on that result on home ground.
The afternoon concludes at 5.00pm, when the Under 18s host Cameri Calcio. After a difficult start to the season, the biancoblu will be looking for a response and a first positive result of the campaign.
On Sunday afternoon, attention turns to the senior side and another demanding away fixture. Trino travel to face Città di Cossato at the Enrico Furno Marchese in Valdengo, with kick-off at 3.30pm.
Cossato have made an impressive start to the season. They sit third with 13 points from six games, three ahead of Trino, and go into Sunday’s match after a 1–0 away victory over Valle Cervo San Lorenzo. With four wins already on the board, they have established themselves among the early front-runners in Group A.
For Trino, Sunday offers the chance to turn the frustration of the Bulè draw into a positive result away from home. After six rounds, the biancoblu sit on 10 points, still firmly among the leading group in a table where very little separates the sides chasing the top positions.
